4D to Excel Module

This is an open-source module. Developers are free to use this module in any database they develop. If any developer makes improvements to the module they are requested to send me the improved code so it may be added to the module. It is released as a Demo Database, an Insider Library and a Component. It is designed for 4D v 2004 and Macintosh Office 2004

Features

This module allows the user to select fields with templates to create Excel documents from 4D. The document is launched in Excel from the 4D application. Currently, the module is for Macs but Windows functionality can be easily added. I have included a text document with the suggested (but untested) modifications for Windows. (Needs Office 2003 on Windows)

• Variable number of Columns(fields)
• Methods are included to allow Excel Documents to be created from arrays
• A total row may be added
• The User may select the Excel operations for the Totals Row
• The Developer, if using arrays, may specify the Excel operations for the Totals Row
• Templates are stored in the datafile so the link to them is not broken if the end user moves the files
• Three styles are available for data rows: real, integer & alpha
• Integer & real styles available for the Total Row
• Includes 3 templates as examples
